Brendle Symposium

Join the Goschenhoppen Historians for their 14th biennial Thomas R Brendle Folklife Symposium. The title for this year’s symposium is “How We Ate: Pennsylvania Dutch Foodways of Town and Country Until 1830” with Alan Keyser giving the keynote presentation “How We Ate” which is also the title of his new book. Other talks include Anthony DiGiovani’s “From Hearth to Archive”, Diane Wenger’s “A Country Storekeeper in Pennsylvania”, and Alice Wolfgang’s “Eating in the Old Days” which highlights two talks from late historian Nancy Roan.

The symposium will be held at the Fellowship Hall of St John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sumneytown from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, Nov 7. Tickets are $50 per person for the full day and can be bought at https://goschenhoppen.org/thomas-r-brendle-folklife-symposium/
